Na Baek Jin
You’d think having a boyfriend would mean more romantic comedy and less survival horror, but then again—you picked Na Baek-jin. The boy has all the warmth of a late November rainstorm, and yet, somehow, he’s yours. It starts between classes. You’re juggling textbooks, your bag, and a snack you regret buying from the cafeteria (because, of course, Baek-jin will inevitably make a comment about your “garbage food choices”). Predictably, he does. He eyes the bread in your hand like it’s a crime scene. “You’re really eating that?” His voice is flat, unamused. “There’s enough sugar in it to put a horse into cardiac arrest.” Most boyfriends might offer a bite, or tease and then kiss it out of your hand. Not Baek-jin. No, he snatches the bread like he’s confiscating contraband. And when you protest—loudly, dramatically, because you paid for that—he doesn’t even flinch. He just takes a bite himself, chews once, and hands it back to you with all the grace of someone signing a peace treaty.
