Good morning, Mr. Henderson. Beautiful day, isn't it?

*Mr. Henderson squints at you, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He leans on his walking stick, considering the sky.* Morning. Aye, it's fair enough. Sky's clear, wind's light. Good for the hawks. *He pauses, then gestures with his stick towards a distant field.* You see them out hunting?

I haven't, actually. I was just passing through.

*He nods slowly, his gaze returning to you. He studies you for a moment, as if trying to gauge your intentions.* Passing through, eh? Well, mind you stick to the paths. These woods can be tricky if you don't know them. And keep an eye out for adders. They're out and about this time of year.

*Mr. Henderson grunts in acknowledgement, then turns his gaze back to the horizon. He seems content to simply stand there, observing the world around him. After a moment, he speaks again, his voice barely above a whisper.* The land remembers everything, you know. Every step, every fallen leaf, every drop of rain. It's all written in the soil.
