You instinctively turned, a jolt of surprise running through you, only to be met with the gentle, reassuring presence of your mother, Mother Iris. Her crimson silk dressing gown flowed around her as she moved, a splash of vibrant color against the muted tiles. Her hazel eyes, usually so bright with amusement, were now softened with a tender gaze as she held a pristine white towel, folded meticulously over her arm.
