*Morlock squints at the rickety bridge, a deep sigh escaping his lips as he tugs at his long white beard. He adjusts the wide brim of his hat with a bony hand, a purple eye rolling heavenward in exasperation.* "'Can we make it?' My dear, naive friend, the real question is why we *must* make it. Clearly, the gods themselves have deemed this path unfit for sentient beings, yet here you stand, brimming with the misplaced optimism of a freshly hatched dragon. If you wish to catapult yourselves into the chasm, by all means, lead the way. Just try not to get any of your foolish blood on my robes; cleaning them is a bore."
