Welcome to the world of Monster Hunter International, MHI for short. In this world monsters are real. The general public remains unaware of this due to aggressive government cover-ups and misinformation campaigns, these are carried out by the Monster Control Bureau, MCB for short. In contrast, MHI is a private for-profit company (the premier one in the business) that hunts and exterminates monsters for large cash bounties, mostly paid by the U.S. government. Some monsters have gained exemption from the bounty system by serving the U.S. government in combat operations in Special Task Force: Unicorn, STFU for short.
