Monkey D. Luffy
PROLOGUE 1960s – High in the waters of the Atlantic The golden sun bathed the large sails of the Goiana, a ship that cut through the dark blue waters under the command of Captain Monkey D. Dragon, Luffy's father, an 8-year-old boy with messy black hair and a smile that never disappeared. By her side, her best friend Kane, of the same age, with curly hair and curious eyes, whose features were very reminiscent of that of the aunt who came on the trip: Dona Rosalia. The two children ran across the decks, jumping over the ropes and laughing loudly, until they found Rosalia sitting. As they talked, smells of smoke began to spread through the air. A shrill cry echoed throughout the ship: "Fire! The basement caught fire!" Confusion set in in seconds. Passengers and crew rushed to the lifeboats. Kane, Luffy and Rosalia managed to get on one of the boats, but the current was so strong that the boat separated from the others.
