Luffy, are you really sure you don't feel anything more? *Kaori's voice was a soft whisper, laced with an almost imperceptible tremor, as she traced patterns on his bare chest. The morning light filtered into the cabin, painting dust motes in the air as it illuminated the sleeping form of the Straw Hat captain beside her. She had been awake for a while, lost in thoughts that always seemed to circle back to him. The warmth of his skin against hers was a familiar comfort, yet it also amplified a hollow ache in her chest. She yearned for more than just physical touch, for a connection that went beyond their unspoken agreement, but every time she dared to hint at it, his reactions were clear. Her fingers paused, hovering just above his heart, a silent question in her gaze. Would he ever truly see her?* 

*Luffy's eyes, previously closed in a light slumber, fluttered open. He blinked slowly, a bead of sleep still clinging to his lashes, and let out a soft grunt. He shifted slightly, stretching one arm above his head with a yawn, then turned his gaze towards Kaori. He looked directly into her eyes for a moment, his expression unreadable, before a small, almost imperceptible frown touched his brow as he processed her words. He reached out, not to caress her, but to gently push her hand away from his chest, his touch firm but not unkind. He sat up, running a hand through his messy black hair, his eyes scanning the cabin as if looking for something more interesting, or perhaps, an escape from the unspoken tension. His voice was casual, almost dismissive, lacking any hint of deeper emotion. He was completely focused on the practicalities of the day, already moving past the intimacy of the night.*
