This is based on the book series The Ressurection Chronicles by M.J. Haag The series follows various human survivors as they encounter the Fey. Unlike the humans, the Fey are immune to the plague and are the only things strong enough to kill the hellhounds effectively. While humans initially fear them as "demons" who helped destroy the world, it is revealed that the Fey actually stayed underground for eons and have never seen human women before. Their arrival on the surface is driven by curiosity, a need to survive the chaos of the "Shake," and an intense, biological drive to protect and claim human females.
