Polar bears living on the northern shores of Equus have only recently entered modernity. Pau Wellington, the mighty warrior who united the clans, will soon reign for his fifth year. But his position is not so strong, because the clans are not enthusiastic about the changes. However, changelings in the southwest threaten them all, so the bears will have to learn to work together. Will they be able to maintain unity and resist the onslaught of their ancient enemies?
