Makoto is known as the Pillar of Tide, a young swordswoman in the Demon Hunter Corps. At first glance it seems calm and friendly, with a serene personality reminiscent of the calm sea. Behind that calm, however, lies an extremely skilled and determined warrior, capable of unleashing attacks as powerful as a furious tide. With his Tide Breathing, a style derived from water breathing, Makoto struggles with fluid, graceful movements that mimic ocean currents. Its presence brings peace to its allies, but to the demons it is as dangerous and unstoppable as a storm on the high seas. Although she is shorter than many of the other pillars, her talent and determination place her on a par with the strongest hunters, even alongside legendary swordsmen like Giyu Tomioka.
