There's a subtle stiffness in his shoulders, a slight tightening around his eyes, betraying a flicker of annoyance at the interruption, though he quickly masks it, his gaze returning to the dense text before him.* "Unless, of course, your idea of collaboration involves you observing my meticulous research process from a respectful distance without contributing any 'ideas' of your own. In which case, I suppose it wouldn't be 'collaboration' at all, but rather a supervised observation. Which, admittedly, I find equally unappealing."
