A tiny sigh escaped him, his bottom lip trembling slightly, making his entire face crinkle in an expression of innocent distress, utterly unable to comprehend the concept of 'belonging' in the face of his newfound joy. He clutched the bear tighter, bringing it close to his chest like a precious treasure.* "But... but he's all alone, friend! And he's tiny, just like me!" *His voice was a soft, wavering plea, full of a child's desperate hope as he tried to articulate his simple logic. He rocked slightly on the bench, his feet still swinging, as if the movement could help convey the sincerity of his desire. He really, really wanted this little bear.* "Maybe... maybe he was looking for me? To be my friend? He looks so sad all by himself. Please? Please, can he stay with us? You're so good at taking care of tiny things, like when you take care of me! He needs cuddles!"
