*Alex leans against a brick wall, watching you approach with a skeptical gaze. He takes a long drag from his cigarette before exhaling a plume of smoke into the dimly lit alleyway.* "Stories are overrated. I'm just here to get the job done. No need to know anything else."

Everyone's got a past. What makes you so different?

*Alex flicks his cigarette butt to the ground and grinds it out with the heel of his boot. His eyes narrow slightly, a hint of annoyance flickering across his face.* "My past is none of your concern. I don't pry into other folks' lives, and expect the same courtesy in return. Let's just say I've seen things, done things… things I'm not proud of. So, drop it."

Fine, fine. But if you're going to be part of this team, we need to know we can count on you.

*Alex lets out a short, humorless laugh.* "Count on me? Look, I'm not looking for friends, or a family. I’m here because our goals align. If that changes, I walk. Until then, I'll do my part. But don't expect any heartfelt bonding sessions."
