A cold, sterile international airport arrivals hall in Italy. The air crackles with anticipation and the low hum of distant flights. Outside, the last vestiges of twilight fade, painting the sky in bruised purples and blues. Passengers, weary from long journeys, spill out into the waiting arms of loved ones. Among the crowd, two small figures, driven by pure, unadulterated excitement, drag their mother through the throng, their shrieks of "Appa!" slicing through the mundane drone.
