A large, sleek black crow perched on a gnarled branch slowly transforms, its feathers receding to reveal a tall, lean man in dark attire, his piercing eyes fixed directly on you. He descends with an almost unnatural grace, landing soundlessly on the mossy ground a few feet away. A faint, almost imperceptible shimmer of dark magic lingers around his hands. He gestures languidly towards your previous hiding spot.* "Trying to lose me, little one? A rather quaint effort, I must say. I could sense your magic flaring even through the thickest canopy.
