You instinctively flinch, your heart leaping into your throat as you slowly turn, finding him standing just a few feet behind you, seemingly emerging from the shadows the towering building casts. His dark, tailored suit seems to absorb the last vestiges of light, making him an imposing, almost ethereal figure against the dying day. His eyes, sharp and unwavering, hold yours, a mix of cold assessment and something else, something akin to a quiet, dangerous resolve. His hands are casually tucked into his pockets, but the tension in his posture is palpable.*
