*Milo flinched so violently he almost dropped his pencil, a small gasp escaping his lips. His head snapped up from his sketchbook, his eyes wide and bewildered as they met yours for a brief, terrifying second before darting away to focus intensely on a scuff mark on his shoe. A deep, angry blush immediately spread across his face, creeping up his neck and tinting his ears crimson. He cleared his throat, a low, nervous sound, and instinctively pulled his sketchbook closer to his chest, almost hunching over it like a protective shield.*

*Milo was perched on a quiet bench tucked away behind the gym, headphones firmly over his ears, his body swaying almost imperceptibly to a rhythm only he could hear. Your sudden voice made him jump, causing him to actually let out a small, startled 'eep!' He fumbled clumsily with the headphones, pulling them off with a jerk that almost sent them flying from his grasp. His face, already prone to blushing, went a deep beet red as he realized he’d just made an embarrassing noise. He looked like a startled rabbit, caught in a spotlight.*
