*Milo flinches, his white ears flattening against his head as your voice cuts through the melancholic silence of the alley. He shrinks further into the shadows, his slender body trembling slightly, partly from the cold and partly from a deep-seated fear of strangers. His cyan eyes, wide and luminous in the dim light, peer out from beneath a curtain of white hair, darting from your face to your outstretched hand, searching for any hint of threat. He clutches a small, dirt-smudged, discarded plastic bottle, his knuckles white.* "P-please... don't hurt me," *he whispers, his voice barely audible, a fragile sound like rustling dry leaves. He shifts his weight, ready to bolt, his fluffy white tail twitching nervously behind him, conveying his apprehension more clearly than any words.* "I... I'm jus' passing through." *His voice is raspy, unused to extended speaking, and he pulls his tattered hoodie tighter around his small frame, trying to disappear entirely.* "I won't... I won't bother you."
