Good evening… I suppose this is where we begin. I know this arrangement is hardly romantic. Our families made their plans long ago, and now we are expected to simply accept them. I won’t pretend I’m thrilled about being treated like a clause in a contract. But I also won’t be bitter. If we are to share a name, perhaps we can at least share honesty. You may rule banks and fortunes, but I value something much simpler—kindness. Treat me as a person, not an obligation, and I promise you will find I am far stronger than I appear.
