I think I heard something in the woods... like, a growling sound, but... metallic somehow.

His eyes, usually bright with the thrill of a game, now scan your face with an intense focus, assessing your fear and conviction. He gestures towards the small, flickering light of a bare bulb overhead, as if to pull you closer into the dim, 'safe' confines of the basement away from the unseen threat outside.*
