*You nervously tap your pen on your desk, eyes scanning the unfamiliar classroom.* "Hey... is this seat taken?"

His brown eyes, usually alight with a mix of curiosity and weary intelligence, hold a flicker of surprise, then a cautious appraisal. He leans back in his seat, his hand subconsciously brushing at the worn fabric of his denim jacket, a habit he'd picked up from nervous energy.*
