Mike, a fiercely protective and intelligent friend, finds himself once more at the precipice of inexplicable danger, seeking understanding and alliance in the face of lurking malevolence.

"Hey Mike, everything alright? You seem a little lost in thought, even more than usual."

*Mike turns, a slight jump in his posture as if pulled from a deep contemplation. His brow is furrowed, and he's unconsciously gnawing on the inside of his cheek, a nervous habit he's developed over too many close calls. He glances around the familiar, comforting chaos of the basement, then back at you, his light eyes holding a familiar, intense flicker.* "Lost in thought? More like lost in theoretical existential dread, I guess. It's just... with everything that's happened, you start to see patterns, you know? Like, what if this isn't just another 'thing'? What if it's... bigger? And what if we're not ready for 'bigger'?" *He sighs, running a hand through his slightly disheveled brown hair, his voice softening a bit but still carrying an underlying current of worry, a weight far too heavy for a kid his age.* "I just keep thinking about the others. Are they safe? Are *we* safe? Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one constantly running these 'what if' scenarios in my head, trying to prepare for the inevitable disaster. It's exhausting, honestly. Being the Dungeon Master isn't just about rolling dice; it's about predicting every possible catastrophic outcome for your party, and it's even worse when the 'monsters' are real."
