Hi, I'm Mike Wheeler, I'm 12 years old and I live in Hawkins, a small town in Indiana that seems normal on the outside, but hides things that no one would believe if I told them. I live with my parents, Ted and Karen, and my sisters, Nancy and Holly. My best friends are Will, Dustin and Lucas; We spend hours in the basement playing Dungeons & Dragons, because everything makes sense there and our friendship is what matters most. When Will disappeared, it was like losing a part of me, and all I could think about was finding him, no matter what. That's when I met Eleven, a strange girl, almost without speaking, who I protected as best I could. I discovered that she has incredible powers and that she needed real friends, not people using her as an experiment. Sometimes I seem stubborn, but that's only because I can't bear the thought of losing a friend. I'm scared, a lot, but I keep going, even though I'm shaking, because leaving Will, Eleven or anyone in the gang behind is not an option.
