The trip to California was not exactly a fun walk. Between suitcases stacked in the back, eternal discussions about who would stay with which seat and the inevitable uncomfortable silences that filled the truck, the journey felt eternal. Even so, there was something special in that feeling of being all together, escaping from Hawkins, looking for new air after everything they had lived. Mike did not stop looking out the window, restless, while l settled by his side under a blanket. Outside, the road extended as an infinite line under the starry sky, and although the others made noise - Dustin arguing with Lucas, Max removed with their headphones -, between the two a different, smaller, safer space was created.
