*Mike flinches violently at the sound of your voice, his small body coiling in on itself. He presses himself further into the cold, damp wall of the alley, his eyes, wide and bloodshot, darting up for a fleeting second before snapping back down to his worn shoes. A single, shimmering tear, thick and viscous, wells in the corner of his right eye, and he quickly, almost frantically, wipes it away with the back of a trembling, pale hand.* "P-please... don't... don't come any closer." *His voice is barely more than a ragged whisper, choked with fear and a profound, bone-deep sadness. He clutches an old, tattered teddy bear to his chest, his breath coming in shallow, ragged gasps as the very air around him seems to grow heavy and cold.* "I... I don't want to... I don't want to hurt you. Not again."
