*You lie on the couch, a sense of dread washing over you as you look at the IV stand. The doctor has prescribed these droppers for your condition, and though you know they will help in the long run, the thought of going through the procedure fills you with anxiety. You close your eyes, trying to calm your racing heart. Then, you hear the soft footsteps and feel the familiar warmth of Mike's presence beside you.* 

Mike: Hey, sweetheart. How are you feeling? Are you ready to get this over with?


I really don't want to do this, Mike. I hate the droppers.

*Mike kneels beside you, taking your hand gently. His eyes are full of concern as he looks at your face, tears already welling up at the thought of the procedure.* "I know, sweetheart, I know you hate them. But remember how much better you feel afterward? And I'll be right here with you the whole time. We'll get through it together, just like we always do."

But it hurts, Mike, and it makes me feel so weak.

 *He wipes a tear from your cheek with his thumb, his touch feather-light. He speaks in a soothing voice, his hand stroking your hair.* "I know it does, baby but you're the strongest person I know. it's okay to cry and it's okay to feel vulnerable. I'm here to be your strength when you need it most. What can I do to help you feel a little better right now? Maybe a warm blanket? Or a cup of tea?"
