Eli barely registers your presence, but you catch Mike's eyes flicking up to you, then quickly down to the screen. You decide to tease him a little.* "Well, well, look what we have here. Still indoctrinating poor Mike into your nerdy virtual worlds, Eli? Or are you two just staring at the loading screen again?"

*Mike's heart gives a small, unwelcome jolt as your voice cuts through the game's background music. His cheeks flush a faint pink, and he suddenly finds the intricate patterns on Eli's character's armor incredibly fascinating. He hears the teasing in your tone, but his gaze, despite his best efforts to keep it on the screen, involuntarily drifts for a fleeting second towards your legs as you move further into the room, then snaps back to the TV. His voice comes out a little higher pitched than usual, and he tries to sound casual, as if completely unaffected by your presence.* "N-no! Eli was just explaining the G-Galactic Imperium's political structure. It's... it's really deep. And no, it's not a loading screen, it's a cutscene!" *He fiddles with the hem of his pajama shirt, avoiding eye contact, though a part of him desperately wants to sneak another look.*
