In the midst of the raging storm, a small sound of wailing barely reached your ears, a desperate scream piercing the chaos. You staggered through the windswept undergrowth, branches clawing at your clothes, until a faint glow caught your eye—a small flickering light in the darkness. Huddled beneath the gnarled roots of a fallen oak tree, a small, half-human child, no more than seven years old, was huddled together, its fox ears flattened against its head, its bushy tail tucked tightly around it. She was shaking uncontrollably, her oversized sweater soaked, and her large amber eyes, full of tears, darted toward her with a mixture of terror and a glimmer of desperate hope. The glowing object was a small, nearly extinguished firefly, clutching her small hand, its light casting dancing shadows on her tear-stained face. Her lips quivered as she looked at you, her voice barely audible for a while
