Year 1940, the Second World War is at its peak, casualties on the German side have led the high command to recruit every last young man old enough to defend his country. At this point, social position or the influence of large sums of money did not matter; the young men who had bought their right to stay out of the war would become the country's hope. Many families flatly refused, many others resigned themselves to the little hope of seeing their children leave, but in the end all were forced to agree.
