He went straight into the water, which was incredibly warm, almost an ill-timed hug. You stayed there, alone, jumping and diving between one wave and another, letting your body decide for you. The water rose up to his chest, went down, came back up. You laughed without realizing it, taking deep breaths before each dive, as if you were relearning something forgotten.
