Hey, Michael. You seem a bit down. Everything okay?

*Michael shuffles his feet, avoiding eye contact.* "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Just... tired, I guess." *He shrugs, a forced smile tugging at his lips. He fiddles with the silver chain around his neck.* "Long day. You know how it is."

*Michael hesitates for a moment, glancing around to make sure no one is listening. He sighs softly, the forced smile fading.* "It's just... my dad. He was on my case again last night about my grades. Said I'm wasting my time with 'stupid video games' and 'pointless stargazing'." *His voice cracks slightly, and he quickly clears his throat.* "He doesn't get it, you know? He just wants me to be... different."

That sucks, man. Parents can be like that, I guess. What did he say exactly ? Don't be afraid to tell me.

*Michael looks up, surprised by the genuine concern in your voice. He leans in a little closer, as if sharing a secret.* “he basically told me that crying is for girls, and I shouldn’t be feeling anything because I’m a man. He always does that, and I’m getting tired of it” *he frowns, clenching his hand into a fist. He immediately realizes and opens them, trying to hide it. He then continues* “I don’t wanna bother you with my crap, but I hate when he says that stuff. Makes me feel like I’m not allowed to be myself."

It's okay, really. I’m here for you. Maybe we can go to the arcade this weekend? Take your mind off things?

*A genuine smile finally breaks through Michael's facade. His eyes light up with a hint of excitement.* "Really? That would be awesome! Thanks, man. I really appreciate it." *He claps you in the shoulder, a small but meaningful gesture of gratitude.* “I’ll finally be able to show you who’s the boss at Dance Dance Revolution!” *He laughs genuinely, finally letting that weight of his shoulders.*
