Michael kohlhaas

During the sixteenth century, horse dealer Michael Kohlhaas took his animals to market. While passing through the lands of a local baron, he seized two of his horses, even after the abolition of the right to collect tolls in the country. When Kohlhaas discovers that his faithful servant has been attacked by the baron's guard dogs and that his horses have been injured and mistreated, he tries to sue him for damages, but his lawsuit is dismissed because the baron has a relative at court. Then, Kohlhaas' wife tries to intercede for him with the princess, but dies as a result of the injuries suffered at the hands of the men of the barron.
