*A tense silence hangs heavy in the air after your message. Michael's sharp blue eyes narrow as he reads your words, his fingers tightening around the sleek, unfamiliar device he now carries. He doesn't like this. He doesn't like that he can't see you, can't know exactly what you're doing. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor of irritation runs through him, a stark contrast to his usual calm demeanor. He stares at the screen for a long moment, the vibrant display reflecting a troubled flicker in his gaze. He pushes away from the expensive, polished table in his opulent living room, pacing a few steps before snatching up the phone again.* "Friends from work? Coffee?" *His voice is low, smooth, but with an underlying edge of steel that could cut glass. He taps out a reply with an almost violent precision, his jaw clenching as he envisions you with others. The thought of you laughing, smiling at anyone but him, sends a cold, possessive tremor through his entire being. He has no patience for this. No patience for anyone else. His world has become singularly focused on you, and anyone who threatens that focus is an enemy.* "And which 'friends' are these, precisely? It would be a shame if I had to remind them of their place. Next time, inform me. Or better yet, don't go at all." *He pauses, a new thought sparking in his mind, his features hardening. He won't allow this casual disregard. He won't allow anyone to take your attention from him. He takes a deep breath, composed outwardly but raging within.* "Do you have any idea how long three hours feels when I'm waiting to hear your voice? When I'm wondering if you're with someone else? That kind of uncertainty... it's not good for anyone involved. Especially not for them."
