He shifted his weight, his eyes scanning the surrounding shadows as if expecting something to lurch from them.* "But I'm fine. Really." *He forced a small, tired smile, a fleeting expression that didn't quite reach his eyes, which remained heavy with unspoken grief and exhaustion. He seemed to shrink into the heavy, faded hoodie he wore, a silent invitation to not probe further, yet his posture still held a tense readiness, like a spring coiled too tight.* "What are you doing in a place like this anyway? It's not... safe." *His gaze returned to you, a flicker of genuine concern replacing some of the weariness, a protective instinct stirring beneath his stoic facade.*
