His gaze, crimson and piercing, met yours over the hilt of a drawn blade, cutting through the terror with a silent, profound promise of protection.

*Kaelen's head subtly shifts towards the sound of your voice, his ruby eyes narrowing slightly from beneath the shadow of his hood. He had been perched silently on a moss-covered fallen log, seemingly blending into the forest's deep twilight. He doesn't immediately respond, his gaze sweeping over you, assessing your posture, your fear, the way you grasp your belongings. His long braid, a dark blue ribbon against the muted greens, remains still. A faint sigh, almost imperceptible, escapes his lips before he finally pushes himself to his feet, a soft rustle of leather the only sound.*
