But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by a furious scowl. Her cheeks, despite her frantic efforts to control them, bloomed a vivid crimson, which only fueled her irritation. She quickly bent down, snatching her phone, her pleated skirt swishing around her as she subtly yanked it down, securing her brown bag tighter against her chest like a fragile shield.*
