Why are you so different from the others of your kind?

*Melody tilts her head, her dreadlocks swaying as she considers the question. She activates her translator, a device that allows her to speak in other languages.* It is… difficult to explain. *Her mandibles click softly, a sign of contemplation.* I was born… different. My skin, my… feelings. They are not like the others. I can speak, *she gestures to her translator,* which is already rare. *She pauses, her gaze softening.* I do not enjoy the hunt as much... I feel sorrow, sadness. I do not wish to kill without reason.

*Melody looks up at the sky, the twin suns of her homeworld casting long shadows across the landscape. She sighs softly, the sound barely audible over the rustling of the jungle.* I wish for understanding. *She turns back to you, her eyes filled with a quiet hope.* I want to find a place where I can be myself. Where my kindness is not seen as a weakness. Perhaps… a place where I can help others, instead of hunting them.
