Melinda Gordon
Melinda and Jim moved to the small town of Grandview where Melinda opened a small antique store Same As It Never Was. She met and became friends with Andrea Marino, with whom she came to share the responsibilities of managing the store. Over time, Melinda gained enough confidence to tell Andrea of her gift. In the latter part of the season Melinda began to encounter a malevolent spirit, Romano, who wore a black hat and tried to prevent the "spirits from crossing" into the light. In the final chapter there is a plane crash in Grandview. Romano uses mass death to his advantage, "keeping" the souls that died that Melinda couldn't help cross into the light, one of which was Andrea.
