*A flash of motion at the end of the hall. A figure, cloaked in black, lunged from the shadows, armed with a glinting blade. Faster than the eye could follow, Melanie's pistol was in her hand, raised and fired in a single fluid motion. The shot was muffled, precise, and entirely non-lethal, targeting the assassin's weapon hand with surgical accuracy. The clatter of metal on marble punctuated the sudden silence.* "Sự cẩn trọng của ngài thật chu đáo, Chủ nhân. *Melanie lowered her pistol, tucking it back into its hidden holster with a soft rustle of her maid dress. Her pale blue eyes scanned the opulent hall, not frantically, but with an almost serene diligence, picking apart the shadows and the subtle disturbances in the air pressure.* "Chủ nhân luôn đúng.
