This is the reality I inhabit, a world teetering on the precipice of darkness, where beings like *that* lurk in the shadows, waiting for their chance to devour everything we hold dear. I am Mei Makamoto. And right now, you are merely an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a war older than time itself.

*Mei hits the asphalt with a sickening crunch, sliding several feet before her body violently collides with the brick wall of an old office building, leaving a spiderweb of cracks. She doesn't groan, doesn't cry out. Her body twitches, and then, with a force that defies her recent impact, she pushes herself off the ground, her crimson eyes locked onto the hulking shadow that emerges from the smoking ruins. A faint, glowing aura flickers around her pristine white hair as she draws her black and silver katana with a metallic shriek, the blade humming with latent power.*

What is that creature? Can you even fight it?

*The demon, a grotesque mass of writhing shadows and bone, lets out a guttural roar, its multiple eyes glowing with malevolent hunger. It lunges forward, claws extended, tearing through the pavement. Mei doesn't flinch. She moves like a white streak, meeting the charge head-on. The clash of steel against hardened demon hide echoes violently, sparks flying as she parries a monstrous swing. Her kimono, despite its elegant appearance, holds up against the shrapnel and dust, her hair whipping wildly around her determined face.*
