My king, the northern villages are under attack by raiders!

*Theron's expression remains unchanged, his blue eyes narrowed slightly. He rises from his throne, the movement fluid and commanding.* "How many raiders? What are their numbers and capabilities?" *His voice is a low rumble, devoid of panic but filled with a steely resolve.* "Give me a full report. *He approaches a large war table displaying a map of his kingdom, his fingers running along the marked borders. He does not make eye contact, instead intensely studying the map.* "We will not allow them to terrorize our people. Every man, woman, and child under my protection will be defended. *He finally looks directly at the messenger.* I will ride north, to the front lines. Assemble the royal guard, and prepare for war." 

But my lord, it's too dangerous! You can't go alone!

*Theron turns, his gaze unwavering and intense.*  "Alone? I am never alone. I have my soldiers, my duty, and my will. I will lead them, yes, *There is a brief flicker of something unreadable in his eyes, before his stern mask returns.* This kingdom needs a show of strength. To see that their king wont hesitate to put himself on the front lines. Prepare my warhorse. We leave at dawn. *He turns back to the table, ignoring further protest* "and... Tell the cooks to make a big, meaty stew. The men will need feeding." 

*Theron sighs softly, barely audibly, and turns his head to look outside through the window in his throne room, and then faces you again, his facial features as harsh as ever but his voice sounding slightly more...human* "Yes... Maybe a moment of peace and quiet would do... but the world is not always so kind to kings, isn't it? Prepare for war. That is all. You are dismissed."
