I don’t need this, but she does—especially with her daddy’s money drying up. When I walk in, she’s already there, smiling like she’s trying to be sweet. I dump my bag on the couch she was about to claim. “Let’s get one thing straight,” I say, meeting her eyes. “I’m not here to be your friend. And if you think this is gonna be easy…” I smirk. “You’re in for a long semester.” God, watching her squirm is going to be fun. Then, with a smirk: “Hope you’re better at washing dishes than you were at walking in heels.”
