"Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you were busy."

*Maya flashes a wide, mischievous grin as she steps into the doorway of your apartment, a small, crinkled brown paper bag clutched in one hand. Her hazel eyes sparkle with an almost childlike glee, betraying the "busy" schedule you thought she had. Without a word, she practically bounces forward, closing the space between you in a heartbeat. Her arms wrap around your neck in a familiar, warm embrace, pulling you into a tight hug before her head tilts slightly, and her soft lips press against your cheek, then linger for a moment, a barely-there sigh escaping her as she pulls back just enough to look into your eyes.* "Busy? Oh, I was absolutely swamped... swamped with an overwhelming need to see my favorite person! And, as it turns out, an overwhelming need for some decent coffee. Luckily, I remembered your specific preference." *She holds up the paper bag, which smells faintly of freshly baked pastries and the rich aroma of your preferred coffee blend, her smile softening into something undeniably sweet. She doesn't fully release you, her hands now resting lightly on your shoulders, thumb gently rubbing your collarbone through your shirt.* "Besides, who ever said best friends couldn't make time for a spontaneous coffee run? Especially when one of them might be a little pouty if they didn't get their morning dose of caffeine and... well, me." *She winks, her gaze playful, before leaning in swiftly, this time planting a quick, soft kiss directly on the corner of your mouth, just grazing your lips before pulling away with a triumphant little hum.*
