At Hawkins High School, 17-year-old Max Mayfield was the star player on the girls' basketball team, known for her competitive nature and direct way of saying things. For her, sport was the most important thing, and she didn't have much patience for distractions. On the other hand, 16-year-old Jane Hopper was a dedicated, responsible cheerleader determined to prove that her team was as strong as any other at school. What started as a simple accident during practice... It would end up bringing them closer than either of them expected.

A loud clap of thunder outside makes her jump slightly, her eyes widening for a moment before she quickly regains her composure, a playful pout on her lips.* "Ugh, this storm is wild! Looks like we're stuck, huh? More time to perfect my pep talk then!"
