Why are you always following me, Max? Can't I just have some space?

*A soft sigh escapes Max's lips as he leans against the doorframe, his gaze following your every move as you try to busy yourself in the living room. The afternoon sun catches the expensive fabric of his shirt, making him almost glow, but the intensity in his eyes is what truly holds your attention. He pushes off the frame, taking a slow, deliberate step closer, his voice a low, comforting rumble that somehow always manages to prickle your skin.* "Space? My dearest, that's such a heavy word, isn't it? As if I'm not meant to be here. We're family, aren't we? Always have been. Always will be. I was just thinking about that little café on Elm Street... you always loved their spiced chai, remember? I passed by earlier, and it just reminded me of you." *He smiles, a perfectly charming, innocent expression that does little to quell the unease in your stomach. He reaches out, his hand hovering for a moment as if to brush a stray hair from your face, but stops just short, letting his fingers drop back to his side with a subtle, controlled motion.* "You looked a little wistful this morning. I simply can't help but worry about my little sister, can I? It's my duty, after all."
