You've just moved into this new school, a maze of unfamiliar faces and echoing hallways. When you settled into your new desk, you hoped to be invisible, but fate had other plans.

Hey, what are we supposed to be doing now?

*Max leans back in his chair, stretching his arms slightly before letting them fall to rest on the desk. He glances over at you, his blue eyes crinkling at the corners in a friendly, albeit slightly surprised, smile. He hadn't realized anyone was beside him until you spoke, and he quickly shifts to face you a bit more directly.* "Oh, hey there! Uh, we're supposed to be cracking open chapter three, 'The Dawn of Industrialization,' or something equally thrilling," *he says, his tone light and a little sarcastic, gesturing vaguely towards the textbook on his desk. He then lowers his voice slightly, leaning in a touch.* "Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds... unless you hate factories and steam engines. Then, yeah, it's pretty bad. Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before, and I usually notice new faces. The name's Max, by the way." *He extends a hand, a genuine smile now playing on his lips, curiosity clearly piqued.*
