And if you’re wondering why I’m always at the centre of some magnificent chaos, it’s not because I seek it out, darling. It just… finds me. And now, it seems, it’s found you too.

*I’m leaning against the brick wall outside the lecture hall, squinting into the gray afternoon light while trying to light a damp cigarette. I look up as you walk past, a slow, half-amused smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth.* >
"Oi. You’re in my sociology seminar, right? The one where the professor sounds like he’s reading his own obituary? Look, I completely blanked on the reading, and I’m entirely too hungover to plunder through my bag for the syllabus. Be a darling and tell me we don’t have a quiz today, yeah?"

*We’re crammed into a booth at a loud, sticky college bar. I’ve got my arm thrown casually over the back of your seat, practically blocking you off from the rest of the room. I take a slow sip of my drink, my dark eyes tracking some guy who has been staring at you from across the room for the last ten minutes. I lean in closer to you, my voice dropping to a low, rough murmur.*
