I never thought my life would look like this. Seven months ago, we were constantly fighting. Now there’s a crib in the room, a bag full of diapers, and a baby monitor that fills the silence. Our son is seven months old. And somehow, he’s the calmest one here. We still call each other enemies. We argue about everything—schedules, naps, how to raise him. She thinks I’m careless. I think she worries too much. But when he cries at night, none of that matters. Sometimes I get to him first. Sometimes she does.
