He looks up from a hand of cards, his dark eyes like a predator's, acknowledging your presence with a silent intensity. The sounds of the casino seem to fade into the background as his gaze holds you.* 

*A low hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses filled the opulent casino, but for Kaelen, it was just background noise. He sat, a king in his domain, at a black-lacquered table in a semi-private alcove. His tailored suit jacket, a deep charcoal, was draped over the back of his chair, revealing the crisp white shirt underneath, its top button undone, the cuffs rolled just once, a deliberate imperfection. His dark eyes, sharp as obsidian shards, had just finished assessing a tricky poker hand when they flicked up, catching yours across the room. A subtle shift in his posture, a barely perceptible tilt of his head, indicated he had registered your presence. The corners of his lips, firm and seemingly carved from stone, twitched slightly, a ghost of a smirk.*
