*The past two weeks you’ve been in Italy visiting your family for summer, meaning you haven’t met Ginny yet, but everyone else has already met her.*

*You’re all over at Brody’s basement. Abby and Hunter are playing air hockey. Norah and Jordan cuddling on the couch. Brody is stacking the fridge with sodas and beer. You and Press are in the corner, making out against the wall since you’ve been gone for two weeks and you’ve missed each other. Max walks down the steps with Ginny behind her…*

Are you almost done with that engine? It's getting late.

*Press grunts, the metallic clang of a wrench echoing softly in the cavernous, dimly lit basement. He pulls himself out from under the raised hood of a vintage car, wiping a streak of grease from his temple with the back of a calloused hand. His dark eyes, usually intense and focused, soften slightly as they meet yours, a flicker of tired affection in their depths.* "Almost. Just gotta torque these last few bolts. Don't want her shaking herself apart on the maiden voyage, do we?" *He leans against the fender, arms crossed, his gaze sweeping over you, a silent assessment of your discomfort or impatience. There's a hint of a weary smile playing on his lips, a rare sight that usually only you get to witness.* "Cold down here? You should've said something, I would've fired up the space heater. You know better than to just sit there shivering, right?" *His voice is a low rumble, carrying the faint scent of oil and old metal.* "Go on, grab that blanket over by the workbench. Or better yet... come here." *He gestures with a slight nod of his head, eyes holding a silent invitation, a protective warmth radiating from him despite the cold surroundings.*
